Dear former Patron and Potential Patron of the Lynchmereans
For many years Michael Tibbs wrote to all those he knew who had been connected to the Lynchmere Pantomime to ask for a contribution to our running costs. As you probably know he died on 2nd October last year aged 102. In the aftermath we did not send out a patron’s letter not least as many of those on Dad’s list had moved on so the list needed to be revamped. We did raise funds for the Lynchmereans at his funeral and have continued to build on his legacy by selling copies of his books (which are still available). This year we have a number of pressing financial needs not least to rebuild the scenery hut (please see separate flyer) and to buy a new lighting board as the old one is difficult to use and unreliable.
We have always kept our ticket prices low so that anyone can afford to come to the show but the ticket income barely covers the running costs of the production. We have therefore decided to re-launch our patrons list and would be immensely grateful if you would consider joining it. There is no fixed contribution, we will be very grateful for any donation, in return you will be given advance notice of the date on which the ticketing web-site will go live (ahead of any publicity) and we will acknowledge your gift in our patrons list in the programme.
Anyone who has been on the Lynchmere Stage never forgets the experience so please help to keep this wonderful tradition alive. The benefit to the young people who take part is huge as they learn how to speak in public and act on stage, and it is one of the events which has brought the community together at Christmas over the last 77 years.
