Snow White and the Seven Gnomes 2022
AT THE HARDMAN HOYLE MEMORIAL HALL, HAMMER
So you think you know about Snow White
Who triumphs over evil’s might,
The Wicked Queen who plots to send
Her to a most untimely end.
The mystic mirror which can not lie
About who is fair in the public’s eye
The huntsmen charged with dreadful deed
Destined never to succeed
The seven who give refuge to the waif,
Who flees from home seeking somewhere safe.
The gallant prince from far, far away
With his important part to play.
A strident dame, furred and feathered friends
And, of course, a fairy who with magic sends
Confusion, laughter: fun for all,
To the Hardman Hoyle Hall!
But the story we tell is not quite what
You learnt from Disney’s saccharine plot.
The witty twists, the dreadful pun:
The Lynchmereans’ tale is much more fun.
Come! Celebrate our return to stage
After two long years of COVID rage
This Christmas will be the time for you
To shout BEHIND YOU! HURRAY! and BOO!
